Strengthening builders with the new AWS Asia Pacific region (Malaysia)

Builders are in the heart of AWS. As Amazon’s CTO is one of the most respected parts of my work meeting with builders from around the world to better understand the unique challenges that support AWS.

Last time I traveled to Southeast Asia to immerse myself in the growing culture of the builder in the region. One of the countries I visit was Malaysia, the rental of the latest AWS region, our 34. Worldwide and Home for the Fast Technology Sector, where entrepreneurs, business owners and the pulsating community of builders show that the solution to a harsh human problem.

For the good

Relief from disasters is one of the most important areas where technology can have a deep impact on life saving. When natural disasters or humans occur, each second is calculated and having the right tools and systems can meaningfully affect the results. In these scenarios, computer vision, machine learning and cloud technologies paired with drones, environmental sensors and other hardware advances have real potential to streamline reaction to disasters, improve communication and coordination, and providing data and real -time knowledge that can lead to rescue and distribution.

During this journey, I gave Aerodyne, the Malaysian company Drone and Drone Data, which started in the data and images of air mapping. When the region hit devastating floods in 2014, the company has seen the opportunity to use its drones technology for search and rescue. They have deployed their drones to map water flows and data collection, which helps to create evacuation routes and mapping of rescue routes. This pivot showed how the innovative technology of the company could create a massive positive impact in times of crisis.

Aerodyne uses this experience and continued to find new applications for its data platform that increases sustainable growth. Today, the company focuses on dealing with complex industrial challenges. The DRONOS software platform can automatically analyze air data by machine learning to provide critical knowledge. In agriculture, this means quickly idéSiss, such as crop disease or lack of irrigation, so that farmers can react quickly – increase Yeds by up to 67%. For telecommunications companies, Aerodyne uses aerodyne to check and map cells, which accelerates the deployment of 5G by more than 90% to reduce operating costs.

What has begun to use drones for mapping has evolved to use food safety problems, reaction to disasters, connectivity and energy security. It is a good example that a company with noble purpose can grow sustainment and at the same time constantly look for new ways to create a positive impact.

A cup for innovation

The way this formula has been repeated in Southeast Asia, where the emphasis is not always to become another unicorn, but to solve a problem that directly affects people in their communities. I have witnessed the companies of democratizing financial services, improved access to the loan for insufficiently operated community and tireless focus on providing educational resources to students of all ages.

Even after numerous visits to this part of the world, I continue to be inspired by the rapidly developing technological sector in the region and the pulsating drive of a positive impact. For all builders across Malaysia and there is your efforts to unlock new opportunities and solve problems with urgent problems. I eagerly expect you to return to witness and celebrate your continuing progress.

Now go build!
