Tech and Heart: How technology and volunteering support older well -being

This blog was Donna Jackson, a senior strategic negotiator of Cisco contract, global cooperation of Cisco for adult carers, including community and founder and Executive Director of the Noble Strength Foundation Foundation and its age at Age®. Through a network of global volunteers, Age to Age® helps to fight loneliness and isolation by connecting them with their loved ones -aanywhere in the world -using Age® platform and Cisco Webex conference.

April is a global volunteer month. During this time of year, many Cisco volunteers reminded me who did not have their time and talents to expand the range of the Noble Stream Foundation and Age on Age®.

From Pain to Purpose: Story of Age to age®

The idea of launching the Noble Stream Foundation and Age to Age® program came out of the devastating situation that we went with our own family, in which the burning of the burnout of carers did not have the opportunity to see ours for a long time. This was a situation that could be avoided, and I knew that technology could be part of a solution where we could help reduce loneliness and insulation for the elderly and solve the burnout of carers.

From the design and engineering of the platform to the joining of people, Cisco employed “the non -generality has a teeth on the older community closer to their loved ones. Here are several of my ages and age® Volunteer program:

Intercontinental Connections: Donna and Aldo’s story

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I had a big fortune to meet a woman at the end of the 80s living in North Carolina, who desperate wanted to reopen her cousins in Italy. Through Age to Age®, which makes it easier to connect and plan volunteer visits to the elderly, I was introduced to Aldo, Cisco employed in our Roman office. Aldo accidentally visited a very small Italian coastal village where these female cousins live. It was happy and accidental twists of fate that we had to take love for advertising, so we created a family meeting to join again.

The unification was amazing! Although some family members were older and partly disabled hearing and Neith Party, which was correctly talked about the other language, conversation was smoothly thanks to Cisco technology using improved decibels and closed translations. The culmination of the assembly was when the woman learned the name Aldo. Aldo was also the name of her deceased father, a chance that joined another level, so she felt even more special and intention.

Words cannot fully describe how they felt allowed to connect between loved ones through the technology we use every day. Meeting a colleague from work from around the world, which I probably did not have at normal circumstances that would be experience, even more meaningful.

Tokyo personal experience to another level: Michael’s story

Michael expects one of the lunch and learning we organized for Cisco to emphasize the work of the Noble Strength Foundation Foundation through its AGE® program. The purpose and access of the program resonated deeply with it. “” “”I was a carer who was the stand of my parents, and after lunch and learning I felt a personal connection with the program. Soon after, I voluntarily joined the connection of a man who was admitted to a medical facility with my wife and daughters.“” “”

Traveling for several hours every day to visit it was becoming increasingly difficult for a person’s family. The ability to maintain everyday visits through a simple connection to a computer was unbearable. “” “”The family said this service was a response to prayer and I experienced such a fulfillment before I could positively affect their lives during this hard season of life,“Michael shared.”

Connection with Double Milova: The Story of Sonya and Thomas

Sonya and Thomas started walking after a meeting in Cisco. Sonya heard about Age® and was eagerly involved. The application that the matter coincided with the long weekend to the beach that she and Thomas planned for themselves. “” “”When we found that the visit is to connect an older man with his girlfriend, it felt even more special for us,“Sonya said.

The aging couple lived in the same community of assisted life and saw each other every day. His son and the career family, however, moved for several hours and were not technical. Sonya shared, ”Because our romance of hope, witnessed the love story of an older couple and to be part of their connection after a few months when they were separated from each other.“Sonya and Thomas were so touched by experience that they were still devoted volunteers.”We are excited and hope to be part of more amazing stories like this,“Sonya said.

“” “”Fun fact,“Sonya shared.”Thomas and I married shortly after this age to visit Age® and now we have two children.»

Local to global

In 2017, I was given the opportunity to “build” the work of the Noble Strength Foundation and Age to Age® to my leaders in Cisco. As a direct result, a partnership was created and we were able to extend the impact of the program from local on global through WebEx and worldwide labor. Cisco was literally a vehicle that I could turn bread my family’s experience into a much greater purpose than I had ever imagined.

Studies show that in some cases the Social Committee for Lonely or isolated seniors is more critical, more important than daily medicines. As Age® has grown, we measured the aimed effects of social connections made through visits and found that the studies were true. Our recorded hundreds of hundreds consist of reflecting improved vital symptoms, eating, application and calmer sleep.

Be part of the expansion for the impact

Since 2024, thanks to the work of more than 150 Cisco employees worldwide, we have been allowing more than 3,000 hours to connect via AGE® and this number is growing. I am so grateful to volunteers such as Michael, Sonya and Thomas who have allowed so many connections and engineers to Cisco (Yee F., Vinny M., Susil M., Natarajan P., Chheang D., Vyhnavi P., Adrian S., Vikrant N. and Hui Eng A.

In cooperation with the Global Partner Cisco, we have the opportunity to expand the impact and support even older customers and their carers.
